Another major problem grapes have is fungal diseases. Grapes tend to contract diseases when they are exposed to water for long periods of time. With a trellis, this will allow better air flow to the grapevine which will reduce the exposure of fungal diseases. Along with being able to apply the weed control agent, you can also better apply fungicides because you will have more availability to the grapevine.

Finally, the most exciting part is harvesting your grapes. With the use of trellis harvesting is easier. It will prevent from damage of your grapes. With a well-designed and strong trellis system will enable you harvest your grapes easier because you can pick them with minimal effort.

Training the grapes to grow on a trellis is one of the key ingredients to success in growing a backyard vineyard. So when you plan to plant grapes make sure to use a trellis system to ensure that you will get the healthiest grapes with the least amount of effort.
